Hello again Bloggers. My apologies for being so out of touch. We at Starlicious Lifestyle Events have been moving studio to Kensington ,Johannesburg closer to our Salon - Colours Hair Grafix. We are in the process of renovations to create a small and intimate studio from which to work where we can serve you a glorious glass of champagne or tea, aherrm, whilst we sit back and talk about every little detail pertaining to your wedding.

One particular detail we wish to emphasise is the decor. This studio will offer all our brides to be a full resource of goodies and ideas for a wedding and or a special event party. From your invitations to the details of your flowers, tablesettings and more. This brings me to a discussion I had recently with a bride about the stresses of creating a table setting that works.
Damask really seems to be one of the most popular wedding themes these days. I think it’s the combination of glamour and glitz with a spice of modern day living. I for one, am a huge fan.Â

I found this amazing gallery on photographer Jennifer Skog’s blog and I couldn’t resist making an inspiration board for this great colour combination. Believe it or not all this glitz and glam was all done for a bridal shower. Â
There is just something about the green that adds that extra bit of boldness to the black and white damask and it looks fabulous in photos too.
What fun details are you incorporating into your wedding celebration to make it more “you”? Fun themes, colour schemes, favours, decor touches, and so on can all be something special to you.
Mr Honeysuckle and I love movies - I’d go so far as to use the term “Movie geeks”, so we’re doing a movie theme, with an emphasis on the classics. I cleverly got Mr Honeysuckle to think he’d thought of the idea of using our favourite classic stars as table names, so on each table there’ll be a framed photo of them with their name on a clapper board next to the photo - because, heck, few people are going to be able to recognise what table they’re at just by the photo! We are having eight tables, possibly nine, so we each got to pick four actors or actresses. Funnily enough, I picked the girls and Mr H picked the guys! (With one spare in case of that ninth table). Here they are in one pic - a virtual bouquet to anyone who can name them all! Go on, I dare you. ;-)
Well, at the rate I am chopping and changing with this wedding theme & decor stuff, I will probably change my mind the night before. My latest inspiration is Old Hollywood Glamour. I adore old classic films - give me Bette, Judy, Katharine, Cary, Fred and Ginger and I’m in heaven. (That’s Davis, Garland, Hepburn, Grant, Astaire and Rogers for the uninitiated).Â

Anyway, I luuurve the look and feel of this theme. I’ve also recently discovered “inspiration boards” on some wedding blogs (as if I wasn’t spending enough time on wedding websites). So I thought I’d try my hand at my own “Old Hollywood” inspiration board! This is what I came up with:
Be kind to me, it’s my first try. :-)

All table decor done by us and Weavers Conference Centre. We made beaded champaigne glass rings, beaded serviette rings, each lady got a beaded bracelet and guys biltong, and each person got a truffle in a box. Have a wonderful recipe for that, and many more.
