Photo Booth
Many brides and grooms worry about their guests during the post ceremony time, whilst the couple is having a professional photo shoot. After all, we all attended a wedding where guests are left to roam around the venue after the wedding ceremony. We all heard disgruntled guests wagging tongues and moaning about the length of the time the bride and groom are taking.

Now, I do not believe that this kind of behaviour is justified as the wedding day is all about the bride and the groom. However, if you are the kind of bride whose wedding is one of many in this wedding season, and most of you guests will be pretty much the same as your freinds’, it will work in your favour if you surprise your guests with something unexpected and fun.
Wedding dress for sale
I designed my dress myself with the help of an extremely talented dressmaker, Tsidi. I never intended keeping my dress and I hope it brings elegance and happiness to someone else as it did for me. The dress cost me R12500 and I am selling it for R10000. It is a 2 piece, the bottom is ice blue and white organza strips which have been purposely frayed on the edges to give it that feathered look. If you are interested, please contact me on leigh@wegotstyle.co.za. I have many other pictures if you would like me to send to you via email.
Inspiration from the kitchen garden
I was visiting mom’s vegetable garden and spotted her chernobyl spring onions overgrowing in the far corner. Out came the scissors and I happily snipped the ball-shaped buds of these unusually large species. On the way in I passed by the lavender bush and out came the scissors again.
I made this arrangement in minutes (without prior flower-arrangement knowledge), so I’m thinking: maybe this kitchen garden look could go with my Mad Hatter’s Tea Party theme?

Decor Photos
Those of you who have been paying attention will know that I started my own wedding photography business, Kat Forsyth Photography, this year. A few weeks ago Mrz Splendid’s company, Splendid Affairs, did the decor for Toadbury Hall’s part in the ‘Rock around the Cradle’ event, and she asked me to come along and take photos. Do I ever say no to that sort of thing? Um…no. :-)
Mrz Splendid does such beautiful flowers! Here are a few of my favourites. You can see more on my blog.

Bachelorette party photoshoot
Here are some pics from when the party started on Friday evening. If anyone would like to book for a bachelorette party please contact info@wegotstyle.co.za.
Bachelor & Bachelorette Parties … A debate that will stand the test of time
In honour of our no sleaze bachelor and bachelorette party business, I thought I would share my story with you about our weekend parties. I think I decided to write this blog when I had yet another dream (which I vaguely remember) but of which some parts of the dream related to Mr Style’s bachelor party and really disturbed me. I then decided I hadn’t given closure to what happened and probably by writing about it, will put an end to it.
My bachelorette weekend was awesome. There is no other word to describe it. It started on Friday and ended on Sunday. My bridesmaids booked a photo shoot for the girls which was the most fun I have ever had in my life. I’ll post some pics seperately. Saturday lunch time I was taken to The Wine Cellar at Monte Casino where all the girls met for lunch, drinks and laughs which followed with a night out at Movida. I was then taken to The Nicol Hotel in Bedfordview where a couple of us were booked in for the night. All of this was a total surprise and the apartment was GORGEOUS!! We had the most beautiful view of Johannesburg.
My fun was suddenly shattered when Mr Style’s sister told me that their dad was highly upset because the guys had arranged a stripper for his bachelor party. I was in total shock. You know that feeling when you feel someone has just punched you in the stomach? When I tried to establish why exactly I was so shocked and angry I simply couldn’t. Let me tell you the story and you can decide. Read the rest of this entry »
Who Are These Wedding Planners Anyways?
I am a professional wedding planner and would like to dispel a few myths surrounding wedding planners.
I want to clarify the ‘professional’ part of the job description. Professional in the fact that it is my full-time job in assisting clients with their wedding plans. It is a lot more than playing with crystals, ribbons and flowers. This is not a glorified hobby. I take my job and responsibilities very seriously. I run a legitimate business through a registered company, I have studied, I have gained experienced, I have a website and even a dedicated work space. I have experience, recommendations and an impressive portfolio. I have an incredible collection of wedding books/magazine than all of the Exclusive Books and CNAs in South Africa. I am constantly researching, innovating and implementing trends, styles and fashions in the weddings I plan.
A message to last a lifetime (part 2)
So I decided to turn to the cyber space for help with ideas. 0.21 seconds later, I was given more than enough inspiration. Actually, from just one website alone. http://www.e-weddingbands.com/store/engravefav.html
These are the ones I like, and some that are just too funny not to post…
