Durban Bride – The Durban Wedding Directory
Planning a wedding in Durban? The new Durban Wedding Directory – Durban Bride launched last year has seen a surge in suppliers registering with them since their relaunch in June 2009!
94 Days & Counting
I cannot believe we’re into two digit numbers for our wedding countdown. Time has certainly gone by very quickly and I still feel that there is so much to do. Our first 1 hour course with the pastor is next week Tuesday and we’re very excited to see how it goes. It sounds like fun and more importantly he explained how he’ll do exercises with Mr Style and I so we get to know each other more than we thought we knew each other. Sometimes that sounds impossible but I always feel that couples will forever be learning new things about each other which makes for an exciting future!
I hate to say it, but I am STILL stuck on what wedding invitations I want. I have narrowed them down to about 3 different ones but unfortunately haven’t made up my mind. Important tip for the ladies out there – go with the first designs and styles that you like because the more you look the more confusing it gets which I keep saying in all my blogs but don’t follow my own advice! I had my first dress fitting on Saturday and decided on the colour of the bridesmaids dresses as well as the beading and colouring of my dress. I’m not giving away too much about it as alot of friends read my blog and wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise :). Mr Style has taken care of the suits which we are hiring from TOBS www.tobs.co.za. Great service and great prices. My dress maker gave me a piece of the bridesmaid dress fabric so that Mr Style can match the suit trimmings. Read the rest of this entry »
Getting the Groom-to-be involved
Wedding theme? Color scheme? Flowers? and Food?As a bride questions like this make your head tick, everything has to be perfect; everything has to ‘blend’ in. For the groom though, all the planning decisions are not really his idea of fun and the excitement of the wedding seems to fade away a little. Now don’t get all huffy puffy about it, he is still very excited about marrying you but as far as the planning goes he would rather leave that in your capable hands.
Many brides do however want to get the groom involved in the planning, not only because it’s his day as well but because planning a wedding is a huge task for one person to tackle alone. The trick to getting your groom involved is to give him ‘tasks’ that will interest him. Ask him directly for his help with the wedding plans, let him know how important his input is to you, and that you can’t do without his help. Men like to be needed.

A-suiting we will go
Something for the guys!
Here’s something I got for all the guys in the bridal party and they were so well received!
They come in….
Groom- Groomsman – Best man – Father of the bride – Father of the groom and they are presented in a beautiful stylish mini top hat. I thought this was a fabulous idea for presents as it was something used on the day instead of being put away in the cupboard.
One for the boys
I stumbled upon a great resource for the groom-to-be, with some great articles, tips and advice that he can also read just like us gals :)

Debate: The groom and his suit
Firstly, I’d like to welcome you all to Bridesbuzzing.com. This new section is our most interactive yet. We will start a thread and you give us your 2cents worth…..
So lets go for it…. The groom and his suit……

Some, no wait scrap that, most brides end up spending a few G’s on their beautiful wedding gown, and some go to extremes with double digits (blush), but what about the groom? After all, it’s his wedding too isn’t it?
How do you feel about the groom’s attire? Should he hire or should he purchase his own suit? At the end of it all, the bride can almost never wear her gown again, but a smart suit is an investment for life…
