Scrap booking pages I’ve done

Hi ladies
It is always lovely to scrap book your wedding album and enjoy every second that goes into preparing the page like you did on the big day. Here are examples of pages I have done….
Jammin’ favours
July 14, 2008 | 1 Comment
I was browsing through an old food magazine from 2006 and came across a fabulous idea, which I thought would tie in perfectly with Mizz Cala Lilly’s Picnic Themed wedding.

Personalised Jam Jars make really pretty favours for your guests and can be personalised for your wedding. The ones in the pic above are really cute, and you can get your glass containers from Consol Glass and make em’ yourself.
Old damask, new damask…
July 1, 2008 | 39 Comments
Recently I had the unfortunate revelation that the damask pattern I was going to use for all my wedding stationery wasn’t good enough quality to print. :-( I don’t know why I didn’t think to check this before! I’ll put it down to wedding excitement and over-enthusiasm, rather than sheer carelessness…
Unfortunately, after hunting high and low, day and night, on all sorts of websites, even ones where I’d have to pay through my nose for a picture, I didn’t find anything I liked. This pattern is just too perfect!

However, I eventually got lucky on Project Wedding. I really enjoy this site; it’s got forums, photos, vendor look-ups, planning bios, the works. Someone had sent out a plea for damask templates, in which I immediately joined (there was quite a wailing chorus of us in the end! Damask madness is taking over the world!) and this girl very kindly emailed me three massive files of damask patterns and tags. So now THIS is my new template:
Wedding ideas with Pine Corns ?

I have had a thought, Pine trees grow in Modderfontein everywhere… So, I thought I could use them somehow to make my day extra special, since we are having a picnic ?

DIY Bon-bon hearts
June 8, 2008 | 3 Comments
I found this really fabulous DIY project on the marthastewart.com (where else?) She has the most amazing projects! This one is really great if your guests will be waiting in the garden while you have your photos taken. You can hang these gorgeous bon-bon hears on trees all over the place and fill them with snacky things. These ones have been filled with coated candy, but chips and nuts will also make great fillers.

Here is the full DIY project and everything you need to make these cute little bon-bons. If you do manage to get it right, please post your pics or email them to us, as we’d love to see your project “in living colour”
Debate: DIY Invitations

How many of you ladies (and gents) are making your own wedding invitations? Tell us about your invite and post pics if you want :)
Napkin menu holders
June 3, 2008 | 1 Comment
I found these fabulous napkin menu ideas on the South African Wedding Moments Magazine

The best way to achieve this is to design the holder as either a rectangular tube (four course meal) or a triangular tube (three course meal). A course can be printed on each side of the tube. We chose the triangle.
Each side or panel of the menu (triangle) is 4.5cm by 8cm. Leave a 1cm by 4.5cm piece next to the panel on the right-hand side, which will form the seam. Three napkin holders can fit onto and A4 sheet.
Couldnt have done it without my Stan and Carl!
June 2, 2008 | 4 Comments
If you’re a DIY bride, like me then you’ve probably already met Stan or have him in your craft draw. Huh? What am I talking about? Stan, as in Stanley, as in Stanley-Knife? Ah Yoda, understand we do….
I did all my own wedding invites, menus, place cards, hanging name tags tree, ceremony programes, and now my thank you cards. And I just couldn’t have done it without my Stan. When I did my wedding ceremony programes, I upgraded to Carl (my fancy shmancy paper cutter, brand = Carl) and these two have stood by me through thick and thin, and will continue to do so till death do us part.
DIY Crystal Name tags

Instead of having a seating chart for our our wedding guests, I made these cute little name cards and hung them on a branched tree which was at the entrance to the reception.

Making them was very easy, here’s how
Eat your centrepieces
May 31, 2008 | 2 Comments
Who ever said that eating the centrepieces was not proper wedding etiquette? I think this is a fab idea. The centrepieces wont go to waste, and you can even save a few bucks skipping the starter or combing your centrepiece into favours.

Edible wedding centerpieces are especially great if you are planning to let your guests be seated while you are having your photos taken. A lot of couples like to do this as it keeps the guests from getting bored. You can let them nibble on the centrepiece while they await your grand entrance. Just let them know that they can dig in by placing little cards on their place setting or nominating a family member to spread the word.
