As we all know news being spread by word of mouth, normally travels the fastest. Whether you’re discussing the brilliant movie you’ve just seen, your embarrassing message you sent on Facebook, which you thought was private, turns out you wrote it on someone’s wall… or that girl who used to go to school with you and got pregnant by the woodwork teacher, and is now selling jams outside the Spar on Saturdays… Point is, news travels fast when it’s being told, discussed, whispered or shouted, by mouth.

So, the aptly named events company who definitely needs no introduction in South Africa, By Word of Mouth made my task very easy!

Splendid Affairs is a free bridal publication packed with inspirational ideas, wedding planning tips and real life weddings.

This month’s bridal fashion shoot took place at Shepstone Gardens, featuring bridal wear by Dimity and Wedding Connexion. Sam Scaife of Lashline exercised her make-up artistry on our models, whilst  Kat Forsyth’s photographic talent can be seen throughout the pages of this digital magazine.

On 12 September, Toadbury Hall hosted an Open Day. Prospective brides and grooms were invited to view the venue, sample delicious treats, ask questions and get an idea what a wedding at Toadbury Hall would be like.

The staff of Toadbury Hall was available to answer all questions and even provided wedding planning tips.

The brides were invited to visit the Bridal Library and gather information about the leading wedding service providers.

“Splendid Affairs” had the privilege of setting up the Toad Hall. Various table settings were created to show case the versatility of the Toad Hall. The brides had the opportunity to image decor possibilities.The table seating were ranging from sleek, crisp whites and greens, to the bold and the beautiful red and yellows, and even a secret garden theme. “Trendy Settings” and “Cor De Rosa” were also present.
