Big VS Small…
Now as soon as you brides-to-be get your minds out of the honeymoon suite, we can get to the real issue here…
I am of course talking size of wedding! Now sometimes this can be quite simple, your Prince Charming rescued you from a castle tower, where your evil stepmother was holding you ransom for the keys to the Kingdom, which is rightfully yours. He then throws you over his shoulder, or back, depending on upper body strength as he maneuvers his way carefully down the slippery castle wall, which is overlooking treacherous and stormy waters down below, which means sudden death with the first wrong step. But down below, a sail boat awaits, which is pulled by Felix, his magical sea horse, hey, this is my hypothetical situation, so yes, a magical seahorse then pulls them to the safety and seclusion of a tropical island where they are united as one, with only the seagulls and Felix as witness to their love… Sigh… But then again, when are things ever this easy?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
I don’t think so… Seems to me beauty is very much in the eye of the photographer, brilliant editing, and a little gift called Photoshop…
So I’m super excited, have all my bridal magazines with post-it’s sticking out at every venue with a view, and I am ready to start clicking my way to my perfect venue… Or so I thought.
The first page opens with scenes of dewdrops, glistening on a leaf, the sun behind it, getting ready to burst from its cocoon of night… And I’m thinking, yes but where would we have the reception? Surely they don’t expect me to fly all the way to Cape Town, for a more serious look, based on a beautifully decorated biscuit, sitting snuggly next to its teacup? I get it, you serve tea in pretty nice cups, but what does the room look like where we will spend our first night as Mr. & Mrs. together? Read the rest of this entry »
Let’s start at the very beginning. It’s a very good place to start.
So, the guy has been met. Love has happened, and the engagement ring is shimmering oh so proudly on my finger. Bliss.
But now what? Where do you start with something so big? I mean, movies have been made, books have been written, fairy tales have been told and retold a million times over. Someone feeling a little bit of pressure? I mean, it is, after all, my wedding day! The day little girls across the world dream of, the day I get to be a queen the entire day, and in my books, the 3 weeks leading up to it as well, I mean you have to milk it a bit… The day I have to plan? Playing nice
It has come to our attention that the comments feature on Bridesbuzzzing is being used (without even relating to topics) to post slander comments about venues. Bridesbuzzing is not the place to post your negative comments, we provide our blogs for brides to interact with each other and share the joy of their wedding day. This is not the place to bad mouth anyone, especially if your comment doesn’t even relate to the topic!
Unfortunately this misuse of our blog and comments has forced us to moderate all comments before approving them.
We do understand that many of you have problems with venues, and we encourage you to take them up with the venue or post on a website like hellopeter.com.

Loving long tables

In South Africa most brides choose to have round table at their wedding reception. The general feeling is that round tables are more sociable and more acceptable. However, the latest trend shows that more and more brides are favoring the sweep of long tables over a sea of rounds seating ten. Read the rest of this entry »
Arum Lily with a Bling
Arum Lily is an elegant and beautiful flower. It is highly effective in creating modern and beautiful arrangements. The drawback is that in South African coloured Arum Lilies are scarce and it is often difficult to guarantee that a bride would be able to source Arum Lilies in any other colour but the traditional white and green.
This often limits its use for the brides with other colour schemes, but I have a perfect solution to this problem:

By using beads and crystals you can colour co-ordinate this gorgeous flower to suit your wedding colour scheme.
Wedding Planning Journey the Splendid Way
With only three months to plan a wedding, we worked extremely hard in getting everything sorted. Nevi and Craig made all decisions regarding the wedding together. It was extremely important to both of them to express their unique personalities, as well as their deep connection to each other.

Nevi and Craig were married on 20 September. They exchanged their holy vows at the Catholic Church, and chose to celebrate their special event at the Shepstone Gardens.
John & Ryan Piano-Vocal Duo
Please allow me to introduce John and Ryan a piano-vocal duo. I had the pleasure of working with them recently, John and Ryan were truly professional, accommodating and just a pleasure to work with.

If you are looking for a live act at your wedding then look no further. John and Ryan are amazing at creating a romantic atmosphere. Both are incredibly talented not only in their respective arts, but at reading their audience and further compliment the mood of an upmarket wedding.
