Firming, preserving and tanning

Now that I am having my dress made, That Special Moment’s website really stood out.  I noticed their ad on Facebook and thought I would share their info with you if you haven’t already heard of them.  They offer a storage option for your wedding dress that preserves the fabric and colour.  Read more on www.thatspecialmoment.com.

I also find that when there are big events taking place, us ladies find no time, or just simply forget, about the smaller things that are important to some of us.   For me keeping up a healthy tan is something I have to do, especially for our wedding day.  Luckily I tan easily but am pretty fair skinned.  Instead of rushing a dozen sunbed sessions before the wedding I go for 15 minute sessions once a week which is just enough to keep a healthy glow.  My tip to the  ladies that aren’t naturally tanned is to start sunbed sessions at least 4 months in advance.  It sounds really far in advance  but I don’t think I need to remind you how quickly time flies.  Also, rushing sunbed sessions just in time for the wedding is not a good idea.  The sunbed can burn just as easily as lying in the sun.  If you are sensitive to tanning you can by all means use sunblock on the sunbed believe it or not!  There is no difference between the sunbed and the beautiful (but often harsh) sun outside.  When you’re lying on the bed you’re basically inches away from the globes and will burn easily.  I would suggest a standing tanning booth as an alternative.  Most of the standing booths are set for only 7 minutes or 12 mins maximum because of their power and you run less risk of ‘burning’.

Something else I’ve noticed as I’ve hit 33 is that my skin elasticity around my chest and bosom area has decreased slightly in comparison to a couple of years ago.  It’s amazing how quickly it seems to happen.  Just like that extra wrinkle that pops up overnight!  If this is something that you’ve noticed and have chosen a dress that exposes this area then I recommend Clarins Body Firming Lotion.  It’s roughly R450 but lasts for up to 3 months.  It is so silky smooth that you use very little.  I also use it for the top of my arms.  It has dramatically improved my skin elasticity and I will certainly be using it for the rest of my life if I don’t find anything better.

Be sure too to keep your hair trimmed regularly too.  If you’re trying to grow it a little more like I am for the big day, the last thing you want is leaving it to grow and then having to cut most of it off just before the wedding because the ends are so split.
