I wrote a blog with the idea of having cinderella wands http://www.bridesbuzzing.com/2008/04/07/cinderella-ribbon-wands/… SO this past weekend, I started making them…. WE had Loads of fun!!!!
Please mind the date on the camera, my mom didn’t set it, coz it is a new camera…
Ok, what you need is :
Ribbons the colour of your wedding, different sizes if you wish
Ribbons matching your theme
A Glue Gun
A Lighter (To seal your ribbons at the ends)
Delf Sticks Cut to size
First you have to cut your ribbons about 5cm longer than the sticks you are using…. Get hubby to be to help, burn all the ends of the ribbons..
Cut strips of about 4cm long, this you are going to use as the strip to glue your ribbons on… See image below
You glue all the ribbons on the strip, arrange your ribbons any order you want, adding a ribbon representing your theme in the middel, then you apply glue from left to right on the strip…
Then you take your stick, and glue the strip onto the stick
THEN you first do all the top parts of your wands….
THEN girls, you take the broader ribbon of the two, the broader the ribbon for this, the better… (BUT not toooo wide), then you first glue the ribbon onto the top part you have wrapped around the wands.. Then start wrapping the ribbon around the wand, to cover the stick..
It works best if you do this upside down (LOL, the wand, not you)… Otherwsise your ribbons will get tangled.

When done, glue your ribbon to the end, ensuring that the ribbon doesn’t curl off you wands….
AND VOILA! Ths is what you have!!
How perfect do you think this is ??????

lol, love your step by steps hints on the diy..especially the upside-down-part.
This is a great idea, something else, I like!
Hmmm thought I would share this for any future girls who maybe want to make this. I had so much fun with trial and error to make them. And I am loving the end result….
Hi
I’m looking for a place to buy satin ribbon in exactly the colurs you have [ivory & coffee coloured. Can you tell me where you bought yours pls? If I buy it from paper/scrapbook shops its per metre and its too expensive to buy 20m. I’m in Cape Town..
The wands looks stunning by the way…
I also had that problem, it is approx R6 per meter. And at the local material stores it is rather expensive…
these I bought per 30m roll, for R30 the thin one, and R50 the broader one. I bought them at Hubby and Lace in Vereeniging. We live in Kempton Park, but my fiance’s dad lives there..
Mizz CL, these are so stunning! I see you got the man invovled to hehehe (good on you) :)
I really like how you’ve incorporated your paw prints into your decor - I cant wait to see your wedding pics!!!!
Queen Bee, you should have seen it, I had my mom, my dad and Mr CL involved.. We all made it, and you know what, it makes it soo much more special…… 3 months, 1 day to go!
