I recently got an email from Edgars about their fablous “Sex and the City” range which is too-cute. Some of the dresses in this collection are really simple, but with a few smart accessories and some bling and blang, they can really be dressed up - which got me thinking… The perfect Honeymoon outfit.

When we went to Mauritius for our honeymoon I took so many clothes, and only ended up wearing a few items. So, I really think that having simple clothes on holiday/honeymoon is a must, but take along outfits that can be glammed up, that way you have a fabulous little number for the evening or for when you and your new man hit the town.
This dress is a perfect example (its also from Edgars, Kelso). Without the belt, its simple and sassy. You can wear it on the beach, sight seeing or to lunch. Worn with simple sandals and its pretty and comfortable. For the evening you can you dress it up with gold and red bangles, sexy earrings, high heeled gold sandals and of course the belt - which really transforms this little number.

Now speaking of style and Carey Bradshaw - Fashionista Extraordinaire I found a fabulous website that shows you all the cute outfits “as seen on tv“. Unfortunately for us SA gals, its not really easy to get our grubby little paws on these pieces, but none-the-less, we can always look and make do with what we can get our paws on .

OMG, I luuurve that little red floral dress! I waaaant! It’s winter, I wonder if they have it? Then again, they always bring in their summer stock super early.
Well I got the mailer on the 23rd June, so maybe, maybe, maybe you might still find it (the range launched on the 29th May).
That outfit is by Kelso Limited and was advertised at R349.95
Available at the following selected Edgars stores: Canal Walk, Centurion Centre, Claremont, Cresta, Eastgate, East Rand Mall, Fourways, Gateway, Menlyn, PE Greenacres, Sandton, Tygervalley, Waterfront V&A, Westville.
That floral dress is EXACTLY the kind of thing I want my bridesmaids in, except in black and ivory!! They’re going to kill me if I dress them in something like that in a Midlands winter aren’t they? Do you think I’ll make it to the border before they defrost…? Hehehe…
LOL! Yes I think they will kill you.
R349 is a lot of money for a little dress, but if I can justify it as a honeymoon expense….
Mizz HS, a honeymoon expense - ha. It’s justifiable as an anytime expense, just look how gorgeous it is! I say do it. Do it NOW! Think of me as the style angel sitting on your shoulder… or the style devil maybe ;-)
Heehee, Mizz Iris, I think you fail to understand how utterly stingy I am when it comes to clothes. I never spend that much money on one item! R250 is sort of my limit…when it goes over that I get scared. (Well, except for my wedding dress and this long velvet evening dress I have). There was this dress in a boutique window that I LOVED - but it was R560. My one colleague was like, “So? Buy it if you like it!” I couldn’t do it. So now it’s gone! :-(
