Perfectly groomed eyebrows frame the eyes, and face, beautifully. They open and lift the eyes and can dramatically change the appearance even before applying makeup! However, many don’t know how to shape their own brows and we’ve all seen women sporting too thick or too thin brows, overplucked brows or worse… the unibrow! I suggest going to a makeup artist to have your brows shaped.
We are trained to take the eye shape and facial structure into consideration in order to find the ideal brow shape for your face. What we try to achieve is a natural, flowing arch and we do this by using the tweezing method. Tweezing is more precise, as waxing can remove too many hairs at once and may result in uneven brows. Waxing also removes the layer of skin directly under the hair and this causes the red, bumpy skin many women experience. This is also the reason why we are told not to have a wax on on our big day.
Tweezing, however, can be done on the day as redness is minimal and can easily be covered up with makeup. Yes there is some pain involved but it does get better the more you do it! I also try to make the experience more comfortable by using a numbing lotion beforehand.

Great post Mrz Orchid
I actually went for brow shaping (im a brow shaping virgin) last week and the girl that did mine was pretty awesome. She is based in Durban….
She mainly cleaned them up and I was really happy with them. The thing I liked the most is that she took so much care and you can see that she loves what she doest. I mean a R30.00 job and she really made me feel like I was getting a R1000.00 service!
It definately makes a difference to have your brows shaped :)
Thanx Queen Bee! It really is amazing how something so small can make such a huge difference!
