Entertaining the kids at your wedding…

June 27, 2008 | Posted by Mizz Calla Lilly

I would have loved not to invite kids to my wedding, BUT my sister has two, and I love them very much, so I decided to try and make the day fun for them… Because kids that are bored, will mess up your perfect day…..

Sooo I didn’t really know what to do, BUT Helen my co-ordinator gave me a suggestion that we make a kiddies blanket, with
sweets and treats for them, PLUS she will make them their own picnic baskets!

AND she is renting me a jumping castle to keep the kids busy!

I think the kids will have LOADS of fun!!

To be honest, I also didnt want kids at the wedding, but hubbys brother has 2 little boys and i really wanted them there…. so we didnt exclude kids but we didnt invite them either….. nonetheless, some pople brought theirs and belive it or not the kids had a ball - there were only about six kids so it was actually quite nice :) - then add on another 4 babies - but the moms took care of them, which Im sure was not much fun for them.

I like this idea - a jumping castle is perfect!

AND I would love to make the day fun for them….

It is lovely to include kids at the wedding.

It all depends on their Ages, and their relation to you. The babies will need their nannies (so consider allowing child minders to accompany babies to the wedding), whereas older kids need entertainment. If there are only 2-3 kiddies, it really is not an issue. If you are having a larger group of kids then consider setting up a separate area for them.

Bear in mind that too much candy and coke will leave them sugar-rushed (and it is NOT a pretty sight). Provide crayons, play dough AND a nanny to oversee the mayhem. You can either find an au pair for the day; otherwise most venues can provide a child minder. Provide written guidelines regarding children to the parents.

There will only be about 5 kids at the wedding, since we are having such a small wedding, there is not allot of people going that have kids….
AND I adore my sisters two kids, and I wanted to make my day special for them as well…
SOOO a jumping castle was just the right idea!
