To most of us this is the most important thing of our outfits, Because, what if it doesn’t fit ? What if my shoes hurt me? What if I get stuck in the ground ? What if my shoes fall off ???

My first choice would obviously be the typical wedding sandal.. Which most brides wear…

BUT then I had to think, is this practical? Wont the heel dig into the ground or grass, especially considering that we are having a picnic? So, I went and bought this pair of shoes…

They are Crocks, they are just the right colour! And I thought they would be perfect. I still do. BUT then I, being a typical woman, go through magazines and see all types of lovely shoes…. all from www.bridalshoes.co.za

Then I find this, and thought what if my dressmaker could embroider it for me to match my dress?

I like the crocs, does it match with your dress? It is different, but I am sure it will work. The ballerina type shoe is also very nice, but I am just thinking as you are having a morning wedding and you are going to walk around the garden for your photo session, perhaps the silk would not be such a good idea, as it will get wet and dirty pretty quickly.
OH my! you are right! I never thought of it that way ???
No, I am going to stick to my Crocs, they are soooo comfy!
AND they match my dress prefectly!!
AND besides my fiance likes them….
That isimportant. If you like it, use it. And like I said, it is different, where else will you get a bride wearing crocs on her big day?
If it makes you feel at all better, I will be going shoeless! On the beach there are no shoes I can think of that wont get sand in them and hurt like hell, or flick sand up as you walk like the flip flop does! But I can sympathise, there are so many pretty shoes out there! Stick with your crocs, they are practical, and best of all, the dont actuallt look like crocs!!
LOL, no they dont.. When you think crocs, you think this wide mouth shoes..hiehie, this ones is very femine… AND the match my dress, wich is perfect.. since I really dont want white shoes..
TRUST me if I had a choice I would go barefoot! lol
The ballet shoe is stunning, but if you are having a picnic wedding, they might not be that practical - IMO the crocs are about your best bet…
I also bought two pairs of shoes for my wedding becuase I was in two minds, but in the end I made the right choice :) They hurt at the end of the evening, but I had these pretty gold ballet slippers with a canvas cover (so not silk) that I wore :)
Hey Claire - check out Andrea’s wedding - she had the most gorgeous beach sandals made for her wedding. They are shoes without being shoes…

Seeing that we will be walking allot, and playing in the water.. Putting the nice ballet shoes on afterwards, wont be such a good idea..
THEN I am glad I have the crocs….
Oh my word! Thanks Mrz QB! Those are stunning! What a good idea! Now to find someone who can do beading…!
YOu are welcome Claire :)
I remember Andrea saying a friend of her’s did it - Im sure if you browse online you will find instructions on how to make them. My guess would be its a long thread of beads, with one jump ring and clasp at the ends that you tie around and then clip with the clasp…

What about adding ribbons to your crocks to try pretty them up? I see they have holes in the front and back. Get a ribbon to match and im sure you can make them SNAZEEE :)
Oh my gosh, I’m loving those last ballet slippers! But I suppose everyone else is right; they’re too impractical for an outside wedding.
I am wearing red satin ballet flats! They’re the cutest things ever, match my BM dresses, and make me feel like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, which is doubly awesome because of our movie theme and because Judy Garland is my favourite classic star ever!
I thought of getting the ballet flats, and have my dressmaker embroid my doxies from my dress on there… BUT if I am planning on playing in the grass, and posing by waterfalls, they will be ruined…..
SOooo I am going with the crocs, will try the ribbon thing…
LOL
