So far some of the people we have told we are not having any alcohol at our wedding, have given us a mouthful. Isn’t it suppose to be our choice if we want alcohol on our big day?

When people hear that we aren’t having any alcohol at the wedding, the first thing they ask is “Do you have alcoholics in your family” which drives me mad!

The reason why we aren’t having any alcohol is that we are having a morning wedding, and a picnic. I have been to so many weddings, where there was alcohol, and people end up making fools of themselves, or take advantage. So since years ago, I made a decision that when I get married I will not have any alcohol. Not even alcoholic champagne….

But what to do if you still want to pop the cork?

I have been doing some research and there are a few alternatives to not having any alcohol.
Lets tackle the champagne…
You get two different Known name brands out of there… Monis and Ceres….
Monis has a white grape, as well as a red Grape Bubbly

Ceres is the most popular option I could find and they have a wide range of Bubbly…. They have them in 340ml Cans, or 275ml bottles…

Ceres is bursting onto the beverage market with the launch of Ceres Sparkling in a new elegant 275 ml glass bottle.
Ceres Sparkling first added a dash of sparkle to nature’s perfect juice when the range was launched in 340 ml cans in 2003. Now, with the launch of the new premium look of the sophisticated 275ml glass bottle, Ceres aims to offer a greater variety to the discerning consumer market in this beverage category.
The new stylish Ceres Sparkling range offers the same wholesome goodness and quality that Ceres consumers have grown accustomed to over the years. Not only is Ceres Sparkling 100% pure, natural fruit juice, with no added sugar or preservatives, it is also suitable for Halaal. The Ceres Sparkling Apple variant is Kosher certified. (www.ceres.co.za)

Ceres Sparkling an ideal non-alcoholic bubbly for any occasion, is available in a stylish new 275 ml glass bottle and the convenient 340ml can. They come in 3 Delicious flavours…
Apple
White Grape
Red Grape
So, I am thinking of getting the White Grape, and the apple, then maybe add some frozen berries…
AND VOILA!

Champagne Fit for a picnic!!

Ja wat vriendin, solank ons ‘n bietjie bubbly het om dit te vier is alles oraait!
Hmmm weet jy, die ander mense se alies, dis mos my keuse hoe ek dit wil he ne ?
EN my idee hierbo is mos reg ? Ek dink dit kan AMAZING wees, veral as mens die berries insit….
Yes I agree with you, it will look amazing with the berries. And I agree especially if you are goig to have quests with the tendency to drink more than they should, no alcohol would be the perfect thing then. It is also known at most morning weddings not to have heavy alcohol. Some champagne or wine at the very least.
See that is why I dont want any… hehe, so I will have these, with berries. I think it would look so AMAZING!
My sister had a morning wedding, she did have champagne, but it was served with orange juice. Other then that there was also no alcohol served. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that! People ar so hung up on alcohol it’s crazy! Especially at weddings! We’ve decided to not have shooters of any kind served at our wedding,I’ve been to tons where people go mental on them, and A) it racks up the bill B) they get so wasted that there’s always a drama of some sort!
I feel the same way…. And being drunk or even silly and fall over everything, is not something I would want at my wedding…..
I think the problem is that people generally associate a wedding with a party and they forget whats its all about. You can have a great celebration without alcohol :) I like your ideas for the berries, it will look great!
You are right, and that was our main reason for having a morning wedding… Becoz we thought people will know it is not a party when it is in the morning..
AND it is a picnic, sooo I wanted to add something I like.. And I LOVE berries!
We’re having a cash bar, because I don’t even drink (unless it’s something sweet and yummy like nachtmusiek mmmm), so I’m damned if I’m paying for other people’s drinking! I’ve come in for some flack online about this, but hey, it’s that or NO alcohol. I’ve been to lots of cash bar weddings. Anyway, Mizz CL, I think your sparkling juice idea is great and the berries look awesome. So go you! Ignore the rude naysayers. If they want alcohol they can get married and serve it there. :-)
LOL, aint that true. THEY are the ones who complain the most now, BUT wait until they get married, then it will be just as bad, THEY will be the first ones to not have any booze at their wedding… LOL
OR that’s how I see it anyways…
SO for my picnic, there will be Non-alcoholic bubbly with berries…
Woohoooo…….
