How many of us just have our photos taken at the venue and reception, and of course where you get dressed. … BUT has anyone thought of actually having FUN in your dress?
Not having your posed pictures, and not just normal ones.. I mean like going to places close-by your venue, and just have fun shots taken in your dress?

As most of you may or may or may not know, my wedding venue is in Modderfontein, and the surroundings there is very lush…

So me and my fiance took a drive, and I was stunned, the little town are amazing! they have the most awesome views about 5 minutes drive away from the wedding…

This is as you drive away from the venue… The most stunning waterfalls…
NOW I thought WHAT IF we make our wedding photos fun ?? Drive to the little spots, and enjoy ? I mean we are paying all that money for the dress, hy not enjoy it to the fullest ?

with all these gr8 views to my disposal would I be dumb not to use it ?
THEN there is the most cute little coffee shop, just across a play park, a true English coffee shop.. AND I wanted to have some photos take there..

ALSO in the play park we can push each other on the swings, etc…
NOW wouldn’t that be fun ?

Mizz Calla Lilly,
Your photo “Just Having Fun” is just divine.
I’m planning my wedding for Nov ‘09 and searching for unusual ideas, I really
like your suggestion.
I’m recently engaged, and though I still have over a year to go, I’m already in a flat panic.
I found a “Bride’s Agenda” on http://www.rapidinfo.co.za it has been really helpful.
See Link Here:

Thanks guys, its such fun seeing all your ideas and suggestions.
You know what else some girls are doing? They are booking a full on photoshoot with their photographer before the wedding. The make-up and hair trials are done on the same day and the whole session turns into a fun photoshoot.
Following benfits:
1. Your photos will show how u will look on your wedding day, so you can be critical about make-up and hair
2. You will get the ‘feel’ of your photographer’s style. SOme people dread their photos taken and get intimidated by the professional photographer, so this will help such bride to relax and put her fears to rest.
3. You will feel like a SUPERMODEL :)
AND you get to keep your pictures!
This sounds kind of like a mild Trash The Dress session. Because most TTD sessions that I see pictures of haven’t actually TRASHED the dresh, just maybe got it a little grubby on the ground, or wet by wading in a fountain or something. So if you’re not worried about getting your dress dirty, go for it! Besides, it probably won’t get any dirtier than normal photos would make it, and it sounds fun! You HAVE to take advantage of the waterfalls!
Hi Allie,
We got engaged on March 13th 07, and we immediately booked most of our stuff, I didnt want to book 6 or 7 months ahead, becoz I was afraid everything would be full… When I booked everything people thought I was crazy to book so long in advance. BUT you know what ? IF you start planning early, you wont get nearly as stressed as you would if you leave it till later….
You are more than welcome to read all my blogs, here’s the link for you..

Hi Evegenia,
Hmmmm I was playing with the idea, BUT I dont want to really wear the dress before the time ?
BUT what I did have in mind, is maybe having a photoshoot, but a private one, with sexy photos, one can use as a gift for you new Hubby on your Big day ? And maybe model all your honeymoon outfits ? Hmmmm NOW that would be fun ?
I read about the Trash the dress, BUT I really wouldn’t get into a foutain or something, like some of those pics.. LOL…
I agree Mizz Honeysuckly I just LOVE the waterfalls, I am a water type person, so I am going to make full use of the water falls…
Even if I have ti bundle my dress into my hands to get in… hehehe
WOW… Mizz Calla Lilly…
That sounds very naughty and brave!!! You really should do it! Let me know ;)
(PS about the dress… we did one photoshoot at the dress maker’s home at the final fitting. It was an event in itslef…)
I saw it on here I think ? Or somewhere on the web, SOME brides go all out, BUT I am not half as daring as that.. BUT to do the small things, I dont mind. In fact I think it could be fun ?
Hmmm now you are giving me an idea ? BUt wich type of photos do you take then ?

Yes, Yes and Yes, have fun. That is what its all about. On my wedding we did quite a couple of fun photos and still today it is the most favourite photos is our albums. We had our wedding at a golf course with beautiful gardens, so we took along some golfclubs and had some photos taken “playing a game of golf in our wedding outfits”. we also took some fun shots in a “forest like” atmosphere. There were a lot of trees as you walk away from the golfing green with lots of long grass and these huge pine trees. We had some awesome shots there. So in short - do it. Your photos is all that have years after your big day, so enjoy it make it worth the effort!
Your photos is amazing! those gold playing shots are my fav as well. They all look so natural! I LOVE the photos!
And that is why I decided to have some fun!
