If I lived in my perfect fantasy world, getting married on the beach would have been my ultimate dream. Ahh, the waves gently crashing, the warm sand between my perfectly pedicured feet, sunny skies and well, to sum it all up, pure paradise!

I’d wear all white (surprise, surprise), something thats fresh and flowy and I might even go for a bikini as a top with a beautiful skirt? The guys would be in beige or white, preferably linnen with the hem of their pants messily rolled up, revealing thier ankles. I’d have my hair in curls, my make up minimal and go barefoot. Of course, blue would be the prominent colour, maybe even a splash of lilac and yellow.
But when I return from my cloud in the skies to reality, I really cant imagine having a beach wedding at all. It all looks and sounds amazing, but one trip down to Durban beachfront for breakfast and my hair is already frizzed, my make up running and Im feeling hot as well, hell!
So how do you have the perfect beach wedding? Lets hear from the guys n gals in the know….

We’ve just booked for our beach wedding in May next year. There is a lot to worry about! Never mind the make up and hair, but high tides, wind, the fact that with the floods now and high seas that we’ve been getting more and more often, our venue might not even be there next year! lol!
You get the best photos at a beach wedding! So I hope the venue is still there :-)
Beach weddings are lots of fun, but they are risky, wind and rain are the most unwanted !
If you have flash loaded see some beach shots on these links

Thanks for that, pictures are lovely! Is there anyone around that has actually had a beach wedding including the reception? If so please let me know how it went, any glitches that you hadn’t thought of that go hand in hand with the beach?
I msut admit when we were on honeymoon there was a wedding the following Saturday right next to where we were staying. We could also see everything from the penthouse. They had the most perfet weather anyone could ask for unlike the mixed weahter we had on teh day and it looked like a terrific wedding. They had chairs right under the railway lines and the bride arrived in a beach buggie on the sand. They came a different route to ensure the guests saw her driving on the sand. After that the guests went up to the reception area while the photographer took amazing pictures of the bride, groom and bridal party on the railway track while we watched from the balcony. I think having a beach wedding is beautiful but you just have to look out for the weather which plays a very important role. Good luck!
