Napkin menu holders

I found these fabulous napkin menu ideas on the South African Wedding Moments Magazine

The best way to achieve this is to design the holder as either a rectangular tube (four course meal) or a triangular tube (three course meal). A course can be printed on each side of the tube. We chose the triangle.

Each side or panel of the menu (triangle) is 4.5cm by 8cm. Leave a 1cm by 4.5cm piece next to the panel on the right-hand side, which will form the seam. Three napkin holders can fit onto and A4 sheet.

  1. Use these measurements to create a template. This is probably easiest on your computer as that will allow you to type the meal courses on each side before printing.
  2. Make sure that you make scoring markers at the top and bottom of the page.
  3. Once you have checked that everything is correct (including the spelling), print out onto normal paper and check again. It’s always good to get someone else to check it too.
  4. If no corrections need to be made, print onto your chosen cardboard,
  5. Using the blunt edge of a knife, score the card using the scoring marks as your guide.
  6. Cut out each napkin holder.
  7. Attach double-sided tape to the edge that does not have the 1cm seam allowance.
  8. Fold along the score lines.
  9. Remove the covering on the double-sided tape and attach this edge to the 1cm seam allowance and press to ensure that it is well attached.

Oh that is totally cute! And useful. Hmmm, I’ve already designed a basic menu, but it took me maybe ten minutes, so I might just lose it and use this! Because I don’t have any napkin rings either.
