Style makeover

Ladies, I have to tell you about this amazing colour/style workshop I went to this weekend that I just cant get over. For any of you out there who want to change your style and find out what suits you then you’re gonna love this fab find. Now, before I start, I must just mention that I’m a style channel (183 baby) ADDICT! My favourite programmes are “how do I look” and the one where a celeb stylist takes a girl shopping for a runway outfit that she’s chosen (I’ve gone blank on the name)….

(This really is the same woman - no surgery!)
Whenever, I watch these shows I always say to my self “oh I wish I had a stylist to help me out just a bit”, because, (like most of you fab ladies Im sure), every-time I open my cupboard I have NOTHING to wear and I always NEED a new outfit for EVERY event…. Sound familiar?
Well, this weekend, my wish had been granted…. I was lucky enough to win one of two personal style consultations with a stylist for an hour. The workshop (which I didnt even know existed - but my mom-in-law thought would be fun), was hosted by Chata Romano image consultants. It was a fab day filled with freebies (and who doesn’t love freebies), and helpful style secrets on how to dress and how to make the most of your features.
Wheel of fortune

Colour pallets are not just for painters anymore or for the Dulux stand in your local hardware store. they are great little tools that can prove to be lifesavers in your whole wedding planning process.

You may like a gazillion different colour combinations for your theme, but seeing them together will make all the difference.
Your first step is to pick a base colour and once you’ve established that you can work on another two complementary colours. Your base colour will be the main colour you decide on and the complimentary colours will be what you use for accents.
Lets say, for example, you choose brown as your base colour, and pale purple and red as your accents, you can create your bridesmaids dresses in brown and compliment them with a pale purple sash, and red roses…. see where this is going? Ah, ha, I have your attention now, so where do you get started?

I wanted to initially give people a Dvd of our favorite movie as a wedding favor. BUT then everyone doesn’t have the same taste as us ? SO yesterday morning I get this email from a place Branded Water. www.brandedwater.co.za AND I took a look at the website, and it hit me!

Entertaining the kids at your wedding…
June 27, 2008 | 4 Comments
I would have loved not to invite kids to my wedding, BUT my sister has two, and I love them very much, so I decided to try and make the day fun for them… Because kids that are bored, will mess up your perfect day…..

Wedding Talk!

My finances parents are coming to town over the weekend for a little visit. I am excited to see them, but I am worried that I am going to bore them to death with wedding stuff, which raises the question “how much wedding talk is too much?”
To Shoe or not to Shoe

To most of us this is the most important thing of our outfits, Because, what if it doesn’t fit ? What if my shoes hurt me? What if I get stuck in the ground ? What if my shoes fall off ???

Hair up or Down?
June 25, 2008 | 10 Comments
For my Matric farewell everyone told me to wear my hair down. Afterwards I hated the photo. I really hated it, because everyone with their hair up looked sooo nice to me.

So, ever since then, (lol), being more than 10years ago, I changed my look… I am blonde now… But I really dont want to have my hair down, and people are telling me to have it down ?
Because it’s our choice

So far some of the people we have told we are not having any alcohol at our wedding, have given us a mouthful. Isn’t it suppose to be our choice if we want alcohol on our big day?

Bubble Sensation

Is this not the best thing you have ever seen? Left is a close up of the flower in a glass of sparkling wine. The syrup forms layers or graduates in the glass, the perfect Champagne Cocktail!

The flowers are actually the calyx or centre of the flower and contain a woody seedpod which is removed by hand by the farms growers.
