Who ever said that eating the centrepieces was not proper wedding etiquette? I think this is a fab idea. The centrepieces wont go to waste, and you can even save a few bucks skipping the starter or combing your centrepiece into favours.

Edible wedding centerpieces are especially great if you are planning to let your guests be seated while you are having your photos taken. A lot of couples like to do this as it keeps the guests from getting bored. You can let them nibble on the centrepiece while they await your grand entrance. Just let them know that they can dig in by placing little cards on their place setting or nominating a family member to spread the word.
Fruit is especially popular to use in centerpieces and you can get really creative by getting cookie cutters in the shape of various flowers to make the fruit shaped like flowers. Arrange a few variations of fruit onto kebab sticks to let your guests easily remove the fruit. Try to go for “stiff fruit” such as melons, watermelons and pineapple. You can further decorate with grapes and various berries.

If you’re planning a more rustic wedding, what about prettying up bread baskets and filling them with assorted rolls, biscuits and sealed mini cheeses? You can also display an assortment of dips and pate’s. No starter necessary!
Savour the favour
Candy bars are becoming really popular settings for wedding favours, but why not incorporate the candy buffet into your table decor? Arrange thee various sized cylder vases in the centre of the table and fill these with candy to match your decor and colours. You can even sprinkle some rose petals around these to make them more attractive.
On each guest’s place setting, place a little bags with a miniature sweet shovel or spoon with a card attached saying “fill me up” and allow your guests to take the sweets home with them after the wedding.
What about making your own cookies and placing them on long sticks in a bowl? You can decorate these with icing to make them blend in with your theme. I especially like these for African themed weddings.

Fruity ideas
Another fresh idea, is to have candles in hurricane vases arranged on the centre of the table and use grapes to surround them. The grapes give it a nice fullness, and the combination of the green grapes and yellow candle looks really soft and elegant.
Apples filled in a cylinder vases also make for attractive centrepieces.

So cuuuute! I love the fruit cut into floral shapes. But I’ve got to say, I love flowers, so I’ve got to have them!
those look like the could cost more than the flowers though.
