One of the stationers had this booklet, which let people not only let people know where they were sititng BUT who they were sitting with…
It was awesome, each guest had a little blurb about them, where they were from, what they do for a living etc etc. The attention to detail was incredible, I absolutely loved it! I think it’s a fabulous idea! What a perfect conversation starter for the guests who don’t know each other. I love love this idea, and wish I had had it for my wedding!! It takes a serious level of fact checking and planning, but it gives you a chance to reflect on each guest, and how much they mean to you.
While on the subject of seating, another great (and increasingly popular now) idea is to name tables after something other than numbers; places of meaning for you, flowers, islands etc. also a great idea!

Hey Mrz TL, great post and WELCOME BACK! Hope that the show was successful for you? I wanted to go, but no one wanted to come with me (sniff, sniff) : )
I really like that idea, especially the blurb about the guests. I think another great idea, would be to include how you met them? Some really funny (and maybe even embarassing) ice breakers stories will come from that :)
