All new wedding venue …..

SOOOOO  we have booked our previous venue last year in April when we got engaged, paid the deposit, and everything. In January this year I enquired about the money outstanding, THEN I was told they double booked me with a conference they have that weekend, and that people will be moving past us the whole time…. SO I was really ticked off, and they moved us to another venue.. Wich I wasn’t very impressed with. AND last week I tried to contact the co-ordinator and ***** POOOOFFFFF***** now I can’t get a hold of her. Aint that nice??? She dissapeared in to think air just like a genie…. hehehe

I contacted my first co-ordinator (YES, they even transferred me to a different co-ordinator without letting me know, I had to find out when I spoke to the first one…) and she told me that I am in my right to get my deposit back becoz it is still 6 months…

SO I tried again to get a hold of her, and couldn’t. I then left a message saying that I am cancelling the venue and need my deposit back… THEN believe it or not, she phoned me back. After I said we are cancelling the venue, the first thing she said was “I hope that it wasn’t becoz of me”, I just smiled and said no….. COZ if I did, I wouldn’t get my money back…

SOOOO my venue hunting began once again! BUT where to go now…..

SO this time I didn’t even look on the web for places, as that means seeing all of them again… I decided to ask around, and my one friend suggested Izedleki wedding Estate…

It is situated in Kempton Park, right next to AEL Modderfontein…. This looked soooo perfect for me, so I contacted Helen, she will be our co-ordinator. And to my suprise she actually contacted me back almost straight away… She gave me a quote, and we accepted… Then she emailed me some more photos…

Having a picnic wedding is soooooo perfect! Take a look at these! We dont want a wedding that is to formal, since it is a small wedding, we wanted to make it fun.. and what is more fun than having a picnic….
This is a photo of Dobs House, the venue we will be using….

This what each couple will get in their basket… We decided on not giving a basket per blanket, but rather give each couple their own basket, that way they can have a romantic picnic as well as enjoy the wedding….
This is our menu! Helen helped me to customize our menu!

  • What fun! And I’m so glad you found another venue, AND that you managed to get your deposit back on the old one!

My photographer had some stunning pics that I’m sure were from Isidleke – I’ll look when I get home and post them to you if they are.

  • Hi Mizz honeysuckle
I was sooo depressed, to start venue hunting 6months before the wedding is awful! BUT I love the second venue even more!
PLEASE ? If it was from there, I would love for you to email them to me please??

  • Sure thing! I’ll look to see!

Where was your original venue, by the way?

  • Thank you sooo very much!!! The previous venue was Birchwood Hotel

  • Lindie:

My dearest friend, I am so happy that you have found the ideal place for your big day. I cannot wait to sharein the happiness. Just a pity we still have to wait so long!

  • Lindie, Sorry my friend, hehehe, like me you also have to wait 6 months.. LO> BUT I promise you it will be worth the wait. The previous venue was stunning! BUT things didn’t work out for me there. I love the new venue!

  • Enjoy the wait gals, its over far too quickly and if you’re like me you end up with wedding planning withdrawal symptoms :)

  • That is so gorgous Mizz CL. Really, the tent is beautiful. Is all this and the cusions etc included in the venue hire?

Paper laterns would look so nice on those trees (not sure what time you’re having your reception) and you can even do your place cards on a real tree!!!!

Cant wait to see your pix

  • Ok I found that wedding I was thinking of. It isn’t my photographer, it’s the one I wanted originally who gave me the name of my photographer. Anyway, same difference! Here’s the link to her blog where the pics are:
