I need advice on who to choose for the candle lighting ceremony, I know we have to choose one person from each family. Can I choose someone who is not married?
I have an aunt that never married, but she is like my mother to me, I love her to bits but my mother feels I should choose someone who had or has a rosy married life. Should I?

Love the candles and the Photography of Weddings
Hmmm I always thought that the parents of each did the candle lighting ceremony, sort of like giving the light to their new partners
That’s what I thought as well. It’s usually the mothers, isn’t it? I’ve never been to a wedding where they did a candle ceremony, but from what I’ve read I thought it was the Moms.
We had a candle lighting ceremony and my mom and hubby’s mom both handed the candles to each of us. It’s supposed to symbolise handing over of their light to our new married life…
