The engagement
We went to Franshoek for the Weekend, to Kleingenot guest house. He planned the entire weekend, Breakfast followed by a massage, then a horse ride through the vineyards, and we stopped for lunch at a restaurant. The restaurant had a table set up by the fireplace, champagne and platters.  Then he got down on one knee and popped out the most beautiful ring.

The wedding
The day couldn’t have been more perfect, everything went according to plan. I got dressed at home and Demetri at Hotel la Vendome, in Greenpoint.  The wedding started at 16:00 and it was a Greek orthodox ceremony.

I had each of the 6 bridesmaids sign their name under my dress before the wedding (Greek tradition: the way they sign, they will follow you to get married).

My bridesmaids where given the correct colour red and send on a hunt to find there own special dress for the wedding day. The 6 best men were dress all black and the groom all white.

The page boy and girl completely dressed in white, and the flower girl in red. Guest were asked to dress in High Fashion, (that suits their individual style). With a high fashion theme, we had a infinity curve set up in the hall, so that our guests can have portraits taken throughout the evening, this was our gift to them.

We also did our own photo’s on the infinity curve. We had soft lounge music playing and champagne on arrival, the speeches were sweet and short, and the party great.

A combination of Greek and Afrikaans food and music, made everyone feel at home. The highlight of the evening was Demetri Zembekiko (Greek dance), he ended the dance sliding across the floor on his knees towards me. Must say the bruise was big!

The honeymoon
We will be going to Greece this summer.

Beautiful! I also love the huge photo of you, and the film strip wrapped around the cake instead of a ribbon! Did you have anything else film-related?

Haha, film stuff just jumps straight out at me! That’s why I was wondering if the couple had a theme going, because their huge photo is also in a “film strip” frame.
