Pink and ivory wedding

For my wedding, I had a pink and ivory ”vintage-romance” theme with silver and crystal accents.  The whole venue was draped and had fairy lights, so the decor really fitted in well.

Here is the whole sha-bang with all my pics…

It started with the bouquet…

I had seen a photo of the bouquet I wanted in a magazine and used that as the starting point on which to base my whole theme. My florist, Joan Steward in Martizburg created the most beautiful posy of tightly clustered pale pink roses which had a greenish tint to them.  She tied a cream satin ribbon around the stems and finished it off with pearl and crystal beads which looked amazing.Table talk

I didnt want the tables to be crowded and “over the top” instead, I wanted to create a soft, romantic feel.  We had a gorgeous silver candelabras on the centre of every table which had glass hurricane lamps with candles.  My florist then made up two small ball Posy’s for each table which were filled with clusters of roses in silver rose bowls.Pale pink rose petals were scattered on all the tables, but they had not been displayed in the photo

For each table, I made individual name cards and had the vintage pattern, matching our invitationsprinted on them.  We had pink and white almonds wrapped in white tule and scattered  on tables in the wine glasses.  For the girls, my mom had bought miniature bust dolls and filled them with almonds.

The girls were also given a beaded crystal bookmark which I made.  These doubled up as servite wrappers as well.  We attached a small card saying “Keep Me” to the strand with a thank you note from Mr Tulip and I

Instead of having seating boards, we had a white branched tree in the atrium (as you walk into the wedding venue) and I made little cards displaying each couple’s name and their table number.  I attached drop crystals to these name places, so when they were hanging they really looked good.

And, last but not least, for our first dance we had half-a-metre sparklers handed out to all the guys, so I printed matchboxes with the words “The Perfect Match” on them, again using the vintage print.

Our cake, made by Arriba Chocoaltes was really yummy and tied in nicely with the decor.

FYI: Most of the pics here (the good ones) were from our Photographer – Justin Erasmus and the rest were taken by us before the wedding.

  • It looks so beautiful. I can see how that bouquet became the starting point for your theme inspiration! It’s really elegant and classic. And I LOVE seeing photos of the details in people’s weddings – the name tages, the serviette wrappers, the favours, the centrepieces – all that stuff!

  • Sassy:

    Looks Beautiful!

  • The place and decor and all little items look so nice. I can’t believe we are almost maried for a year already and sometimes wish we could do it all over again.

  • Hehe Mrz Daf, I know… Looking at these pics I miss planning my wedding so much and I miss the day, it was so perfect :)
