I was extremely spoilt for or honeymoon. Hubby took me to Mauritius and we spent two magnificent weeks in the four-star LeMauricia hotel. We only left for our honeymoon two weeks after the wedding, but Hubby tried to keep it a secret and managed to keep it he slipped up two days before.
Anyway, it was still very much a surprise to me, because I hadn’t researched the place online so I was still in suspense until we got there - it was the best holiday ever and I would definitely recommend the LeMauricia hotel.
This is a shot of the outside of our second room. We had another unit for the first week and when asked by the hotel PR person if we were happy, he moved us into this room as we didnt have a sea view - they are very accommodating and the service, was magnificent.

Another shot from the hotel - this is pretty much the view we had from our room.
The hotel was really amazing. It had a beautiful entertainment area with two pools, bar, restaurant and access straight onto the beach.
The entertainment at the hotel was great - every night we had a different show presented

The traditional Sega dancers were amazing
We sat sipping cocktails almost every day…

Our “regulars”… Mrs Tulip - Mojito, Mr Tulip - Maitai

I even got my cocktail in a Pineapple :). Not forgetting to mention that it cost hubby R150.00
This wasn’t one of ours but we had to take a picture - the detail on it was amazing
Most of the watersports were included and we snorkeled, went on the glass bottom boat, skiied and went out on the canoe
Taken from the glass bottom boat - how clear is that water?
My skiing lesson
Hubby learns to wake board
- A few snap shots from out Catamaran trip to flat island - we had the best cat on the Maeva Catamaran
Clear blue water
One of the islands we passed. The crew fussed about the hole in the island, pointing out that it’s known as a “lady hole”
Our amazing crew who sang and danced, almost the whole way
The market at Port Louis
An amazingly ornamental building we passed on the way to Grand Baie
The biggest statue I’ve ever seen - we could see it from miles and miles away
We even got to watch a Bollywood film being filmed
A beautiful Mauricien Sunset
If any of you decide to make Mauritius your honeymoon destination the one thing I can recommend is that you try to take some Whiskey with as the locals kept asking us if we had any Whiskey to bargain with.
Enjoy !
