Making my own wedding favours was a really great way for me to create something uniquely me.  I started five months ahead of time, slowly working my way up to sixty favours. 

Each crystal strand took about 20 minutes to complete and let me tell you, threading seed beads is very, very time consuming.  But, I still had fun adding my little signature to the wedding.  We used them as part of the decor and the girls loved them.

The bookmarks were designed to blend into the the colour scheme of  pale pink, ivory and silver and I ended up using crystals in a lot of other wedding decor, including my bouquet.  So, I made one strand for each girl, and wrapped them around a plain white linen napkin with a little tag attached saying “Keep me” and inside a note saying “Wrap this crystal strand between your novel and always remember our special day”

On the alternative settings, the guys - we tied a plain white organza ribbon, just to finish of the napkin a little bit.

Here are the DIY instructions:

Materials you need:

- Clear seed beads (10mm - or if you can find smaller go for it, anything thicker and the book wont close properly)
- 1 Large crystal bead for the bottom end (I used the big pink balls here)
- 1 Smaller crystal bead for the top end (I used a small diamond shaped bead)
- You can add some design to the bottom end of the strand with what ever beads you like.  I used two clear beads with a single pink Swarovski crystal in the centre.
- Tigertail.  I used pink tiger tail which reflected really nice through the clear seed beads.  You will need about 30cm per strand, but cut a little extra so that you have room to work.

Round nose pliers
Cutting pliers
