Your wedding cake

March 3, 2008 | Posted by Mizz Magnolia

I need some ideas for my wedding cake.  I want something different not the traditional fruit cake.
What are you ladies having and anyone got any good ideas?

    Hi Mizz Magnolia

What are you colours and your theme for the big day?

    Hi Mizz Mognolia.
There are so many options to choose rom you will probably drive yourself insane with all the options. What kind of flavour cakes do you and your fiance enjoy? Then try to tie the cake in with the wedding theme which will help you to narrow it down a bit.

    Good Luck

I definately agree with Tulip and Bronwyn. What type of wedding do you have in mind? Day or night? Any specific colour theme?

We had mini chocolate eclairs filled with milk tart filling, which we had a lot of especially during the honeymoon.
Maybe those little mini chateaux gateaux just be careful you don’t leave them out a long time before the wedding as they need to be defrosted and then melt. Maybe a choc and vanilla mousse cake or mini pavlova meringues stacked up into a tower.

    Hi there

Have a look on various wedding sites as well to give you an idea. Also consider if you would like to have your cake as part of the dessert or as a take home gift for the guests. We’re having ours as a dessert.

    All of the best

Wow! Thanks for all the comments ladies. I havent settled on my colours as yet, but I was toying with tiffany blue and pink. I saw a wedding like that on that program who’s wedding is it anyway and the two clours really compliment each other well.

What do you think of a white cake with green and pink ribbons tied arround or even making each tier a different shade, such as one layer green, one layer pink and one layer white? Has anyone seen something like this before?
