The engagement
Greg asked me to marry him on Saturday, 25th March 2006.  It was a beautiful sunny day and he took me on a ferry from Auckland to Waiheke Island and that’s where he proposed.  We dashed back to Auckland as he had a booked a helicopter for us for the afternoon and we stayed at a beautiful hotel, Viaduct where I got wined and dined.  It was great!

The wedding
I arrived in SA, one month before the wedding and it was crazy.  My mother and I ran around like two mad things, but had lots of help from Wayne (my dad), Suzette and Arista.  I had a great matron of honour - Cheyenne and I couldn’t have done it without them!  In a nutshell, it was THE BEST wedding I have ever been to, and I’ve sent my photos to prove it.

The honeymoon
Greg surprised me with a wonderful trip to Thailand.  We visited Bangkok, Phuket and Phi phi island. It was AWESOME!! We also went to Maya Bay where Leonardo De Caprio filmed the movie - The Beach. Awesome Place! Loved it!

Mel, your wedding looks amazing and I know first hand how much hard work and planning went into that one

I’ve always loved rose petals at a wedding. I think they add a real touch of authentic elegance.
I also think bridal parasols are great. Do they serve any practical purpose though or are they purely decorative?
