How about a wedding without flowers ?

February 26, 2008 | Posted by Mizz Calla Lilly

So I decided on no flowers for the wedding. Because I wanted lilies, BUT I can’t get the colour I wanted. And besides I am not a very flowery person. So after a lot of googling on the Internet I found the most perfect thing for my wedding…

Here is what I have in my mind, please go see and tell me what you think ?

So ?  What do you guys think ?

This is a very nice idea. I like the bottom bouquet… its so unique! Im not sure how these would look in your centrepieces though? What are you planning on having there?

See that is my problem, I really dont know what to have as center pieces ??? Because it is a Dachshund Themed Picnic wedding with only a few tables ?? I really dont know ??

I can not picture a wedding without a flower my friend. But then again, taste differs. Your ideas normally surpises me at the end!

HEHE, well since you know me so well, I am sure you will see how stunning it looks! BUT the picninc baskets would make the center pieces ??

Picnic baskets as centre pieces sounds great - why dont you dress them up with organza ribbon and put a rose in the centre?

As for the Dushounds theme, what about having a bread mould or something like that made and have the baked bread sit on top of the basket? I made a beautiful bread on Christmas shaped like a chirstmas tree. Your only thing then would be to source the moulds? Im sure you can have it made somewhere?

I have tried to find someone to make me a mould, but the only thing I could find is a cookie cutter. Wich I bougt off ebay. BUT you have a good idea! I will go try online, maybe I am lucky!

OR put a Beeno doggy biscuit in like we would do with the chairs at the back ??
    GR8 idea!

The beeno biscuit sounds cute too - maybe make real human cookies in dog bone moulds and have your names or initials engraved on them? That would be really fabulous!!!!

Try the ice cream shops that make cakes out of moulds, Im sure there must be one there - i remember Korsmans ice cream in Benoni but not sure if they are sill there

Also, lookout for party shops. We have one in durban called Party Themes that sell moulds (not sure if they make them) but I cant remember seeing a doggy one

IF you are lucky enough to find a doggy one, it is 99.9% a Poodle or Maltese. hehehe, and those wont work…
BUt now you have really given me an idea. I have two cookie cutters (Wich I will put into a blog just now), then we can bake the cookies (BUT what flavour?) and put the initials on there ??
WOW, you are good at this! Thank you!

LOL Mizz Calla Lilly :) Thanks. Hmm, what about shortbread biscuits? Generally most people like those although the cookie would come out beige. If you want it darker, maybe a crunchie or ginger cookie?

The crystal bouquets are beautiful and so unusual. You could even have different tinted ones worked in, like your wedding colours. Or tie them with a complimentary ribbon.
